Partnering with Hero Dogs, Inc.

In our mission to contribute meaningfully to the community, JSL has partnered with Hero Dogs, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for our nation’s heroes. Based in Brookeville, MD, Hero Dogs trains and places service dogs with veterans and first responders living with disabilities, whether connected to their service or not. This incredible organization operates with a small, dedicated staff and the support of over 150 volunteers, ensuring that these dogs are not only well-trained but also lovingly cared for.

Coltrane is named in honor of legendary jazz musician John Coltrane, who also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Coltrane’s name was chosen by JSL staff through a company-wide naming contest.

Meet Coltrane–A Puppy with a Purpose

In 2024, JSL embarked on an exciting journey by sponsoring the training of a service dog, Coltrane. Named to honor the legacy of jazz and the strength of character seen in our heroes, Coltrane represents a unique bridge between our commitment to excellence in our work and our dedication to societal welfare. Coltrane’s training and development can be followed through his Instagram account, Hero Dogs Coltrane, where we share regular updates and celebrate his milestones.
